My Trading Day…
Good morning to you all. The news story that caught my eye this morning had something to do with an item on Sky News this morning, concerning the nanny state that we live in and the ridiculous signs that are put up everywhere to warn of stupid health & safety issues. They had unbelievable examples of condescending warnings but I noticed elsewhere a story of a guy who was run-over by a train as he was retrieving his mobile phone from the tracks. No doubt he would have scoffed at a sign saying “Beware of Trains – They Are Dangerous” Maybe we do need a nanny state to help the more stupid citizens ?
Over to the markets, where the expected large movement of the main indexes happened right on cue at 3pm – immediately after the U.S. released their ISM manufacturing data – the Dow Jones Index of the 30 leading U.S. companies fell 45 points within a minute or so – but did recover shortly afterwards, but had a fairly listless trading session after that. Stay out of the markets today around 1:30pm as the Non farm Payrolls announcement is due. These figures are usually released on the first Friday of the month, but due to Independence Day falling on a Saturday this year, the markets are all closed. This set of figures causes the biggest movements in world stock and currency markets, so never be in a trade at the release time. Due to the July the 4th celebrations expect thin trading in the UK and Europe tomorrow – maybe take a day off from the markets as I will be doing !
I was trading my new ‘Any Time’ trading system all day yesterday, and I finished ahead by 56 points by 6pm. A trade on the S&P started the day off at just after 10am and I had a total of 8 trades, with 7 profitable and one loser of just 19 pips. The S&P threw up the most trades, but there was one each on the Bund, Dax, FTSE and the Euro$. I have not traded my ‘Evening Trading System’ for a week or so, due to the launch of the new strategy, but I will be re-commencing that next Monday, so I will also be letting you know, in this blog, the scores each day for that.
I hope you all have a successful day on the markets !
